Is LAYR a dating app?
No. LAYR is compatibility. Discovery. Mapping yourself. Getting clear on what you want and what you don't. You still bring people in: swap a code, compare your maps, build real Connections at LAYR 3. What LAYR isn't is swipe-and-meet. That's PAYR, and it's a whole separate app for later.
Is it private?
Yes. Your handle (e.g. SirenLALA) is the only identity anyone sees. No real names. Nothing leaves your device unless you share it. The Lurker Library is anonymous by handle. Delete everything with one tap, anytime.
What does it cost?
LAYR 1 is free, forever. LAYR 2 is $29.99, paid once. You map yourself, then it's yours. No renewal, no expiry. LAYR 3 is $14.99 a month, or $99.99 for the year (44% off), and opens once you've finished LAYR 2's core. Founding 100 pay half: LAYR 2 drops to $14.99 once, LAYR 3 drops to $7.49 a month in your first year. There's a gem economy on top for in-app extras.
What if I'm not sure about my orientation or what I'm into?
That's exactly who LAYR is for. The maps don't ask you to decide anything. Mark something, change your mind, leave it blank. Nothing locks. Some people use LAYR for a year before they call themselves anything.
How do I get to LAYR 3?
Finish LAYR 2 first. Body Map, Yes/No/Maybe, the Desire Architecture arc. LAYR 3 doesn't open until that work is done. Once it does, $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year. It's the only place in the app where you actually connect with another user: saved Connections, the deep overlay of two maps, the read on two people side by side. Coach unlocks here too. Empty if you don't show up. Loaded if you do.
Will my data be used to train AI?
No. Your maps, your library posts, your arc answers, none of it trains anyone's model. The optional AI features (avatar portrait, end-of-arc synthesis) send your input to Google Gemini per request and don't persist on their side. You opt in, every time.
